CHAIRPERSON:
Freida Ellerbe, Director, Family Literacy & Adult Education,
Family T.R.E.E. (Team Resources Encouraging Education), Chesterfield
County School District, 921-1040
MEETINGS:
The
Management Committee meets periodically to review facility issues
impacting services and the ability to continuously improve services.
Please contact the Chairperson to confirm the date and time of the
next scheduled meeting.
ACTIVITIES:
This
project grew out of the now disbanded Parenting Subcommittee.
Located in part of a former elementary school, this one stop shop
for human services offers convenience and greater accessibility for
families. A significant commitment was made by the
Chesterfield County School Board to allow the agencies of the CCCC
to use the building. Members of the CCCC updated the façade
and replaced the roof through significant volunteer effort and the
generosity of the general public prior to opening in September,
1996. Approximately 75% of the space is used for school
district programs, so other agencies contribute (at less than market
rates) to the CCCC portion of the utilities and other operating
costs. The facility serves as a community service site for
non-violent offenders through SC Department of Juvenile Justice.
See
