CHAIRPERSON:
contact
Margaret Plettinger Mitchell, CCCC Coordinator (623-5274).
MEETING:
The
Subcommittee meets on an as needed basis usually in the DSS Commons
Room in Chesterfield. Due to many changes in the participating
agencies, this Subcommittee is not currently meeting on a regular
basis.
GOAL:
This mission of this Subcommittee is to provide customer based, cost
efficient, affordable, reliable, flexible transportation for all
agencies in Chesterfield and Marlboro Counties to include fixed
routes and demand response that increases the self sufficiency of
customers.
ACTIVITIES:
This Subcommittee, formed in January, 2002, is the result of
combining the former CCCC Transportation Subcommittee and the CCCC
Employment & Training Subcommittee. The CCCC
Transportation had been very successful in establishing new methods
of using the available vehicles but this did not lead to increased
rides to work. The CCCC Employment & Training Subcommittee
had networked on many issues and found the greatest barrier for
their clients was transportation. Therefore, the members of
each Subcommittee agreed to join forces and work on the specific
issue of work transportation.
